This sculpture combines digital fabrication and traditional sculptural processes within the vernacular of the Black Mangrove Series. The goal of this sculpture was to incorporate laser cutting, 3d printing and CNC milling in the execution of the sculpture while sublimating their use in the final product.

In this work, techniques associated with aquarium and zoo exhibits were used to model the form using epoxy, mold making, and casting techniques. The surfaces were activated using a variety of texture stamps.

This work was sponsored by The Presidential Fellowship for Faculty Development at the Savannah College of the Arts and Design.
